Up Close Sighthound

I've so many photos of my our dogs, getting up close with the camera. Always with a curious, goofy, "what are you doing" look on their faces. These photos are a moment in the lives of our pets, often blurry, but I'll never toss them. I thought I'd use the idea of these up close to the camera photos, as inspiration for this pendant.

Painted by applying glass powder on to a fused glass cabachon, with kiln firing between layers. A time consuming, tedious process, which makes a glossy imagine permanently a part of the glass.

New from the kiln is a series of greyhound pendants that have a raised texture. Looks like this little iggie is dancing in a bunch of holly berries.

Sweet Pea Wins!

Sweet Pea was the inspiration for Frums Glass Menagerie. She is always in the studio ready to help make stuff to donate to her favorite dog rescue organizations. She is a dog clothes super model, often working for mere biscuits. We are proud of her.

Today, a bit prouder, as she is the photo contest winner in a fun, political themed fundraiser for Italian Greyhound Rescue Fund. She even won a necklace, which she plans to re donate to an upcoming rescue fundraiser.

Adoring Greyhound

If you own a greyhound, italian greyhound, whippet, sighthound, any dog, you likely know the look. It's an adoring look into your eyes. Yes, sometimes it is the look of "I'm hungry," but often it is just a content, "I'm happy to be with you" look.

Here at the Frums Glass Studio, with the companionship of my sweet hounds, I have begun making more of these Adoring Hound pendants, in a variety of colors.
